Reflecting on public life in places with cold winters like Calgary, Jan discusses the change in perception needed by both citizens and city builders to plan for the good days rather than just protection from the bad days. The conversation with Ameri Calvalli, touches on several aspects of quality of life in the city, including insight into one of the greatest aspects of urban life; that the joy of spending time in the city is because other people spend time in the city as well.
